Welcome to Project Fight Night

Project Fight Night is a personal photographic project that investigates the world of mixed martial arts fighters in Central Iowa. When the sport of Mixed Martial Arts began its journey into the national spotlight, Iowa was a natural location for its development of talent and passion. In April 2009, I began exploring the MMA world in central Iowa and found almost immediately that the fights were only part of the story. The fighters were just as interesting. They have created a world for themselves as they train, compete and dream of glory in the cage.
